About SPEC
The Salon Professional Education Company (SPEC) was founded more than 15 years ago, with the goal of creating a new kind of beauty school with graduates who were better prepared for success in the industry.
The caliber of the students attracted the attention of L’Oréal Professional Products Division in the US and led to the collaborative development of The Salon Professional Academy as Redken’s elite beauty school network. Later, SPEC was asked to replicate this successful approach with another brand — leading to the introduction of Elevate Salon Institute for the global brand category leader, L’Oréal Professionnel.
Today, we have a network of amazing schools producing salon-ready professionals all across the country. Our leadership team is comprised of seasoned industry executives, educators, franchise experts, and business owners from many walks of life. The diverse nature of this group brings a unique insight and perspective to the beauty school industry and has led to the development of one of the strongest beauty school franchise systems in the nation.
